Most leaders are carrying a roster of helpers.

You can probably name them. The people who show up, fill the gaps, run point on the event, and then disappear back into the crowd until the next ask. They're faithful. They're helpful. But they're not a team.

A team carries the mission with you. A team grows alongside you. A team gets discipled while they serve — not in spite of it.

Most ministry leaders never make the shift from helpers to a team. Not because they don't want to. Because nobody ever showed them how.

This cohort is how.

"Leaders lead the way in discipleship. Discipleship first. Task — area of responsibility — second."

That single sentence is what separates a real leadership team from a roster of helpers. Once it’s the center, how you invite, who you look for, and what you ask of the people around you all shift.

What You'll Walk Away With

A working list of the people God is highlighting for your team — not theoretical, not hypothetical, by name.

Your first real discipleship-first invitation conversation — had, debriefed, and ready to repeat.

A clear read on where your current team actually is — helpers, contributors, or true team — and what each one needs next.

A discipleship rhythm that fits your ministry context and your capacity — not someone else's playbook copied onto your calendar.

Eight to twelve peers walking the same road. You won't need to do this alone again.

Eli

College Pastor

"I just really enjoyed this cohort. It's honestly been such a breath of fresh air. Putting labels and names to everything I'd already been thinking of, and helping to organize it in a way that makes sense and is repeatable."

Jason

Young Adults Minister

"Re-centering back onto the relationship with God — relationship with Him changes everything. And then remembering that is the key focus when working with people."

Brandon

Campus Minister

"This has been helpful for me to hone in and prioritize some things. Having a regular check-in is beneficial — if nothing else, it gets me thinking in the right framework."

The Six Sessions

Six 90-minute sessions on Zoom. Starts mid-June. Day and time locked with the cohort after registration closes — you'll receive the confirmed schedule before the first session.

➡  Session 1 — The Foundation. Helpers vs. team, and the discipleship-first principle that changes how you build.

➡  Session 2 — Identification. Who is God already highlighting? You'll leave with a working list of names.

➡  Session 3 — The Invitation. The discipleship-first conversation that calls someone up, not just in.

➡  Session 4 — Team Evaluation. Reading where your team actually is and what the next move needs to be.

➡  Session 5 — First Season. The rhythms that hold a team together once you've said yes to leading them.

➡  Session 6 — Sustaining. Discipleship as the long-term anchor that keeps the team a team — not a roster.

Who It's For

Ministry leaders carrying a real area of responsibility — children's, youth, worship, outreach, small groups, missions — who know the season of doing it alone needs to end.

Leaders willing to commit six weeks in a row, do the in-between work, and bring real names and real situations into the room.

Leaders who'd rather build slowly with the right people than fast with the wrong ones.

Who It's Not For (Yet)

Leaders looking for a quick win on volunteer recruitment. This isn't a recruiting playbook. It's a discipleship one.

Leaders in a season where six weeks of focused work isn't possible. We'd rather you come back than half-show-up.

Anyone hoping to be handed a system. We'll give you frameworks, but the team you build will look like your church, your city, and your calling.

If this is for you, we've saved you a seat.

Discipleship-first. Eight to twelve leaders. Six weeks of building the team around you. Registration closes June 15.

Who's Leading This

Andy Abramson is the founder of Elementum — a ministry that equips church leaders for the long work of discipleship and formation. He’s a pastor who has spent the last fifteen years building, sending, and walking with ministry teams across the country. He's coached lead pastors, planted ministries from scratch, sat at a lot of kitchen tables with leaders who didn't know who to call.

Andy is going to be in the room with you all six weeks. Not lecturing. Not phoning it in. Actually in the room — asking real questions about your real situation, and walking it through with you.

If you've never met Andy, the simplest way to describe his approach is this: he believes the people God is asking you to lead are closer than you think — and he wants to help you see them, invite them, and build with them.

One Last Thing

If you're reading this far, something in you is already saying yes — even if you're not sure what to do with it.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you sign up. You just have to be willing to stop carrying it alone, willing to learn how to call people up instead of just calling them in, and willing to put six weeks on your calendar to do real work with leaders walking the same road.

We'd love to see you in the room.

This cohort is also an on-ramp. Elementum works with churches and leaders at a deeper level — through Community and Family partnerships built around the long work of discipleship, formation, and team-building. Six weeks is a real start. If after this you want to keep going, we'd love that conversation.

Registration closes June 15. Space is limited to 8–12 leaders.

Not ready for this cohort? Let us know — we'll reach out when the next one opens.
